Saul Tops Forbes Best TV List; Bob Odenkirk Talks Jimmy With LA Times

This week, Better Call Saul is ranked as 2017’s top TV show by Forbes, while Bob Odenkirk shares his feelings about Jimmy with the Los Angeles Times. Plus, Newsweek selects Saul as one of its favorites. Read on for more:

Better Call Saul is Forbes‘ top show of 2017: “Smart. Brilliantly written. Visually arresting. A show that rewards not only your first viewing, but the second and the third and every one after that.”

• Bob Odenkirk tells the Los Angeles Times, “I like the guy. I feel bad that he becomes Saul Goodman. I would like to see him ask the question of why it’s not good to be Saul and ‘What is a better way to live?'”

Better Call Saul was one of Newsweek‘s favorite shows this year because Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould “have assembled the strongest ensemble on TV, beginning with stars Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn, Jonathan Banks and Michael McKean.”

• In the category of “best performance that hasn’t gotten the credit it deserves,” The Oregonian proclaims that “Michael McKean, and his tour de force work in Better Call Saul was one of the acting feats of the year.”

• The Huffington Post thinks Chuck shouldn’t have died, that “even though Chuck had a nasty streak and a weird side, he didn’t do anything as reprehensible as Jimmy. Karma got this one wrong.”

Screen Rant is a fan of Better Call Saul, “which I’m increasingly convinced will end up just as transcendentally good as Breaking Bad by the time all is said and done.”
