Bob Odenkirk Previews Season 3 to THR; USA Today Eager for Gus

This week, Bob Odenkirk teases Season 3 to The Hollywood Reporter, while USA Today is eager for Gus’ return. Plus, CarterMatt checks out a new promo. Read on for more:

• “You’ll get to see Saul Goodman, but he is not what you saw in Breaking Bad. That character will appear but in a slightly different form than you’ve seen it,” Bob Odenkirk says about Season 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

USA Today eagerly anticipates Gus’ return, noting that Jimmy’s “downward spiral may go into overdrive in Season 3, with the arrival of nefarious Bad favorite Gus Fring, purveyor of meth and fast-food chicken.”

• Checking out a new promo, CarterMatt enthuses that it does “a great job of getting us ridiculously hyped up for everything that could be coming over the course of the third season.”

• Bob Odenkirk reveals, “Gus Fring is back, as people have already figured out, but not only is he back – there’s a story with him and we get to learn a little more about his empire building. He doesn’t just pass through, he’s not just an extraneous character to Saul’s story,” The Independent says.

• In another Season 3 tease, Irish Examiner reports Bob Odenkirk sharing, “There has always been a great mix of comedy and drama with the bad guys but in this one there is a more dynamic mix of the sequences and serious dramatic, scary high drama moments.”

• Bob Odenkirk commends Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould for not being “in a rush to bring people back and don’t bring them back purely for the sake of it. Here we see Gus and get to learn his story in ways that will inform Breaking Bad,” according to Belfast Telegraph.

Austin TOWERS reports that a temporary Los Pollos Hermanos will open in Austin and is “almost certainly a promotion for the 2017 South by Southwest Conference” where Bob Odenkirk is a featured speaker.

Entertainment Weekly adds that the Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up is “tied to the return of [Gus] Fring, who will appear in season 3 of the Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul.”

• “I was shocked and so excited and nervous when they told me about it. I didn’t see it coming,” Heather Marion tells Boise State Public Radio about learning her first episode as a writer on Better Call Saul would be the Season 2 finale, “Klick.”
