GoldDerby on Saul‘s SAG Odds; Season 1 DVD Wins Kudos From NPR

This week, GoldDerby examines the show’s Screen Actors Guild Award odds. Plus, the Season 1 DVD wins kudos from NPR. Read on for more:

GoldDerby assesses Better Call Saul‘s chances of garnering a Screen Actors Guild Award nod, noting “it’s clear there’s still major residual love for the original series [Breaking Bad] and characters played by [Bob] Odenkirk (Saul Goodman) and [Jonathan] Banks (Mike Ehrmantraut).”

NPR reviews the Season 1 DVD, saying the show is “emerging as one of my all-time favorites” and is enamored of the audio commentaries where Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould “invite lots of collaborators and cast members into the room, including co-star Michael McKean, and basically throw a party.”

• The U.K.’s Swindon Advertiser speaks with Jonathan Banks, who says he joined Better Call Saul because viewers find out “how Mike lost his soul and the terrible things that have happened to him so I was thrilled to reprise that character.”
