Carlos Alvarez-Aranyos (born September 25, 1980) is a political consultant and speechwriter. He is a former political columnist, journalist, screenwriter and actor. Born on September 25, 1980, in the Dominican Republic, he was educated in the United States, attending schools in Florida, Connecticut, California, and Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Political Science. He received his Master's Degree in Political Management from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is a son of famed Dominican financier Luis Alvarez Renta and a nephew of noted fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. He was previously engaged to actress Christy Carlson Romano. He is a former resident of Monaco. At the age of sixteen, he founded the Internet edition of the Listin Diario, the largest newspaper in the Caribbean. He was recognized for the achievement by Leonel Fernandez Reyna, president of the Dominican Republic. In 2006, he founded TheColumnist.ORG, where he wrote a weekly political column. As a film writer, he has reportedly written over ten screenplays, although only a project titled The Last Race has been produced.
