Ron Pitts

Ronald Dwayne Pitts (born October 14, 1962) is a former professional American football player. He played defensive back for the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the University of California, Los Angeles Bruins. Pitts was drafted by the Bills in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Since retiring he has worked as a sportscaster, and currently works for Fox Sports on its NFL coverage. Pitts was born in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Orchard Park, New York as a teenager and attended Orchard Park High School. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he played college football for the UCLA Bruins. Pitts was drafted in the 7th round in 1985 had a brief playing career in which he played for the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers. From 1986 to 1990, Pitts played 66 games at defensive back, starting six times. He had seven career interceptions. Pitts is one of Fox Sports' play-by-play announcers, working alongside former National Football League player John Lynch. He also co-hosts Under the Helmet, a weekly E/I program full of NFL-related segments for younger viewers.
