Ivano Marescotti (born February 4, 1946) is an Italian actor who has performed in scores of Italian movies over the past years, but is more recently better known for his role as "Bishop Germanus" in the 2004 movie King Arthur. He has also worked in other American films such as Hannibal and The Talented Mr. Ripley, in smaller roles. He has appeared in a number of theater, television, as well as big-screen movie roles in Italy and Europe, since the early 1980s to the present. He started his acting career at the age of 35. Ivano Marescotti was born in Villanova, a town in Bagnacavallo, Italy, on February 4, 1946. He worked for ten years in the office building of the Province of Ravenna. He then worked in architecture in Venice, then in the DAMS (Drama, Art and Music Studies) in the University of Bologna. But he also had an interest in acting and cinema, and in 1981 he made the definite decision to a pursue a theatrical and acting career. He eventually worked with other Italian actors, such as Mario Martone, Carlo Cecchi, Giampiero Solariums, Giorgio Albertazzi. Doing smaller TV roles and theatre work.
